Brand LA is excited to participate in the CalNonprofits Policy Conference 2024, an annual gathering that brings together nonprofits, state leaders, and advocates to forge a stronger future for California’s nonprofit sector. The 2024 conference, “Strong Nonprofits for a Stronger California,” will take place on Wednesday, November 20th, from 8:45 AM to 5:00 PM at the Audrey Irmas Pavilion in Los Angeles. This year marks the first in-person CalNonprofits conference since 2019, offering a timely opportunity for us to connect, strategize, and amplify our impact in the post-election landscape.
With recent election results shaping California's future, the stakes for nonprofits have never been higher. The conference will address key outcomes of this election season, from competitive legislative races to complex ballot initiatives, and explore how nonprofits can navigate a shifting political landscape.
CalNonprofits' CEO, Geoff Green, emphasized the importance of this moment, stating:
"Nonprofits are leaders in protecting and providing for our most vulnerable neighbors, caring for our environment, mobilizing communities, and envisioning a better future for all."
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in dynamic discussions and hear insights from elected officials, philanthropic leaders, and social change advocates on the critical issues impacting nonprofits today. Key topics will include:
The philanthropic reform movement and ongoing legislative advocacy
Strategies to navigate fractured political landscapes and leverage electoral outcomes
Innovations in nonprofit journalism and media resilience in challenging environments
The conference also serves as a platform to foster new collaborations and alliances within California’s nonprofit community. As Green highlights, “For us to achieve our missions, advocacy and policy work must be a priority – a central strategy.” Brand LA looks forward to building connections and gaining insights that will strengthen our mission of supporting diverse founders and underserved communities in Los Angeles and beyond.
CalNonprofits has prioritized inclusivity with a pay-what-you-can model, ensuring that organizations of all sizes can participate in these vital conversations. Registration closes on November 13th, and we encourage our nonprofit peers and allies to join us in shaping a collaborative, community-driven path forward for California’s nonprofit sector.
REGISTER NOW TO ATTEND. Registrations close on November 13th, 2024.
Brand LA is proud to join this movement to strengthen nonprofits across the state, working collectively to drive policy and advocacy efforts that will support communities and foster lasting social impact.
